February Meeting - We officially changed our Clear Lake Tournament to 12 Mile, at the time we didn't have the necessary backing to do it. We however have a sponsor that has promised to put up $1,000 for our 2012 Tournament season, so as of now we have a Clear Lake 2012 sponsor.

Anyone interested in sponsoring our Tournaments this year, please e mail me at bluecatia@cox.net for information, sponsorships must be submitted and paid for by April 1st, at that time we print up 3,000 schedules for the up coming Tournament Season.

Three inactive Alternate Board Members were removed from the Board list, if you want the names please e mail me for them.

Two new sponsors have been picked up since the meeting, Luhring Enterprizes from Latimer, Iowa and BEHR out of Mason City, Iowa.

It was nice to see two past active members at the meeting, Bob Duff and Pat Wheeler.

The Drifters will have a booth at the 33rd Annual Fishermen's Swap Meet, at the 4 H Building in the Des Moines, Iowa State Fair Grounds, to be held on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27. No hats or Tee Shirts will be sold or offered at the Swap Meet this year. The Des Moines Swap Meet if for club promotions only.

October 10th meeting - a tentative schedule was set up for 2011, Brushy Creek was taken off the schedule. We were contacted by a Lake Marina (at a new lake) wanting to sponsor a tournament, and if everything can be arranged, several area business will put up a $1,000 guaranteed first place payout. When and if things work out I'll be the first to let you know what lake it is.  A little adjustment of rule 11 was made for bank fishermen and a check for $247 will be sent to the Children's Make a Wish Foundation.  A newsletter with 2010 stats pictures and tentative schedule will be coming out in late November. Plans are already in the works to attend the Des Moines Swap Meet after the first of the year.     Next meeting November14th at the Marriot, next to Bass Pro in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

2010 Team of the Year - Tom Davis and Bill Davis took the honors this year with 49 points - weighing in 99.02 pounds of catfish.  Runner up was the team of Travis Tullis and William Young with 36 points. The team will receive a set of nice trophies for their accomplishment.

Opener for 2011
Mozingo Lake Tournament has been set. Not sure but I think it's set for May 14, and is a day tournament. One boat permit and a one day fishing permit for contestants will be required.  Mozingo Lake has been an awesome fishing lake, night or day, early or late in the year, Cat fishing is usually very productive.

KIDS FISHING CONTEST at Big Lake in Council Bluffs is on again. The lake has been restocked with some nice fish. The event is scheduled for June 5th, 9am to noon, kids 3 to 13.  Check out the results tab for the Kids fishing tournament results and pictures.

At the March meeting:

Richard Bales was voted in as a Alternate Board Member.

The Mozingo Lake Tournament was set up for May 14th for 2011, this will be our opener tournament and will be from 8am to 5pm, (Day Tournament). The City of Maryville wants us to get a 2 day permit, costing us $50 for a night Tourney.

The club did about $160 in business at the Des Moines Swap meet, Tom Davis, Jess Camp, David Handy and Dave Kraft helped out setting up and manning the booth, I hope I got everyone.

At the February 14th Meeting

Jerry Smith resigned as Vice President of the club and Tom Davis was nominated and voted to the position.  Jerry Smith was voted in as the Treasurer (he had been temp. Treasurer) and Gary Knudson was voted in as Recording Secretary (he had been temp. Secretary).

We organized the Des Moines swap meet and have things ready to go.

January Meeting

As long as the permits can be obtained, the dates and lakes were set for the 2010 season.  Check the 2010 schedule tab for all information.  We will not participate in the Missouri River tournament this year and no 3 man fishing teams will be allowed for 2010.

At the meeting, Bill and Tom Davis were presented with the 2009 team of the year trophies.  Bill Davis is recovering from a stroke and plans to compete with his brother this year.

Due to the very cold and windy conditions the last several years no April tournament will be held.  Mozingo will be our first tournament in May and will be a night tournament, our opener tournament.

December Meeting not much went on at the meeting, no tournaments have been voted on yet.  The Iowa Tournament Permit site is still not set up yet, only two months behind.
